Ingredients for 4 people
- Dried okra powder (waika)3 tbsp
- Meat250 g minced or dried meat
- Onion3 medium onions, finely chopped
- Tomato paste1 tbsp
- Garlic3 cloves
- Vegetable oil4 tbsp
- Saltto taste
- Black pepper1/2 tsp
- Water4 cups

Method
Cook the onions in the oil over low heat for 15 minutes until they melt and turn golden.
Add the meat and stir until it changes colour, then add the tomato paste, garlic and spices.
Add the water and simmer for 20 minutes until a broth forms.
Whisk in the waika a little at a time and cook for just 5 minutes until the stew turns silky and thick.
Serve hot over aseeda or with kisra.
