About Tahwa and how we write our recipes
Tahwa is an Arabic recipe app that answers the daily question: what should I cook today? Pick the ingredients in your kitchen and it lists the dishes you can make right now. Tahwa is made by IntelGet, an independent developer, and is not affiliated with any food brand or advertiser.
The recipes
The app has 530 recipes from 8 cuisines (Saudi & Gulf, Levantine, Egyptian, Yemeni, Iraqi, Maghrebi, Sudanese and Western). We add them to this website in weekly batches; the app has all of them.
- Ingredients use home measures (cups, spoons, pieces), steps are numbered in order, and every recipe lists its time, difficulty and servings.
- Nutrition values are estimates calculated from the ingredients and vary with what you use.
- Ingredient substitutes are chosen so they don’t change what the dish is.
Photos
Dish photos are AI-generated illustrations of the finished dish, not photos of a specific cooked dish. Yours may look different depending on ingredients and plating.
